| Helping Individuals, Individually
At South Texas Money Management, we work with and understand high-net-worth
indviduals with a range of investment objectives, who seek a core
equity style for their equity management. Average account size is
determined by a relationship minimum. We look at clients with multiple
accounts that aggregate approximately $500,000 or where the family
relationship aggregates this amount.
Our small but specialized staff is committed to producing competitive
investment returns and providing highly individualized client
service. With approximately $1.6 billion (as of 09/30/09) in assets
under management, STMM offers investment
advisory services to individuals, trusts, estates, employee benefits
plans, and endowments.
Our goals for our clients are to:
- Build prudent portfolios where our clients can store the majority
of their wealth
- Establish long-term relationships with our clients.
Over 60 percent of our total assets under management are equities,
where we offer a "core" equity style. The objective is to outperform the S&P 500 Index or the Wilshire 5000 Index by 100-200 basis points (1% to 2%) net of fees on an annualized basis over a three- to five-year period with 20% less volatility than such indexes during the period.
Our "core portfolio" blends two distinct styles: value
and growth. The goal of our style diversification is to participate in all market trends,
whether driven by value or growth. This blending technique tends to smooth returns.
Where fixed-income investments are appropriate, we use investment-grade
bonds, again emphasizing diversification. Maturity management is generally
based on the current shape of the yield curve, taking into consideration
the past 12-month trend, as well as current market conditions. |
